Message from GOL Football Club
I would like to just touch base with you and give you some information about the club, including what each child will need.
Firstly, I’d like to give you an insight to the philosophy of the club. The idea is for us to create a fun football environment where children can enjoy themselves and learn new skills along the way. The club will be split into age group bubbles and run as 3 separate sessions (Year R, Year 1 and Year 2). We will start with a warm up activity, followed by a drill or challenge and then get a good amount of small sided match time at the end. We take the children from school staff and get them changed before the session, aiming to start at 3.30pm (depending how well the group get changed) after being registered in. The session finishes at 4.30pm. At the end of each session, you will be required to pick your child up directly from their coach on the school field or the Year 2 entrance door if the weather is bad.
Finally, what do the children need?
-Sports kit
-Outdoor sports shoes (football boots are allowed, we would prefer velcro boots for children unable to do their shoelaces but understand we might have to do a few up along the way)
-Indoor shoes (for the inevitable day of rain we always seem to get in the summer term!)
-A refillable water bottle! Very important each child has a drink
-A light, healthy snack is optional (strictly no nuts)
-Shin pads are encouraged but not compulsory
If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me on the details provided below. For admin related queries, please contact the school directly.
